A Little About Me and My Web Site

My name is Dawn Burden Bates and I am 40 years young. I have a wonderful husband and two boys, ages 16 and 12. I have been a concerned environmentalist since childhood. Besides recycling, I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices when shopping. Examples include purchasing items that are made locally to reduce the cost to the environment of shipping, purchasing organic items whenever possible, and choosing to purchase items from companies that have environmentally friendly policies and practices, do not test their products on animals, and use ingredients in their products that have the least amount of negative impact on the environment as possible.

I have been a vegetarian since I was 16 years old, and both of my boys have been vegetarians since birth.

I worked in the computer systems field for 20 years before "retiring" to spend more time with my family and do what work that I can at home. Currently, I create web sites on an independent basis for clients. Though, the majority of the income I bring in is NOT from creating web sites for others, but web sites for myself and my own interests and passions, such as recycling. These are the sites that I can't wait to build, the ones that stay up late to work on, and while I'm having fun, sharing my passions, learning something, and hopefully teaching my audience something, I am making money.
